Coburn’s Launches More Connected and Scalable Ecommerce
With more than 60 locations across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama, Coburn’s Supply Company is a family-owned distributor serving commercial and residential customers across plumbing, electrical, waterworks, HVAC, appliances, and related categories.
Challenges
Coburn’s wanted to advance beyond basic online order processing and deliver a more robust B2B ecommerce experience. The new solution needed to better support complex customer accounts, branch operations, product data, account-based pricing, inventory, and fulfillment while enabling continued growth. The company also needed digital tools that reduced manual order-entry bottlenecks, improved catalog management, enhanced search and product content, and increased service reliability. Coburn’s also aimed to reach customers in new markets and simplify acquisition and onboarding.
Solution
Following thorough evaluation of ecommerce technology options, existing business systems and processes, as well as their customer needs, Coburn’s selected ROC Commerce as the platform foundation to power modernized ecommerce solutions. It was the account-based B2B capabilities, proven integration performance, and scalability for continued growth that made ROC Commerce the clear choice for next-generation digital solutions.
When launched, the new ecommerce environment effectively connected product information, customer accounts, branch operations, and digital purchasing in a unified web and mobile experience. A direct API integration between ROC Commerce and Coburn’s ERP gives signed-in customers access to their account-specific and contract pricing, quantity discounts, product availability, open orders, invoices, payment history, and years of transaction data.
Customers can now pay invoices online by credit card or ACH, and automated registration workflows help connect new web users with existing ERP accounts for faster approval. Account workflows, multiple carts, and shared reusable order templates give business buyers greater control over purchasing by project, location, or user.
Repeat ordering has also improved significantly. Customers can reorder from past purchases, use saved templates, and manage replenishment workflows. With the Coburn’s Connect mobile app, field users can scan barcodes, check pricing, build order queues, and place orders from jobsites, service vehicles, or warehouses.
Coburn’s Inriver PIM serves as the central source for product descriptions, specifications, attributes, and other assets across hundreds of thousands of items. ROC Commerce product identifiers make products searchable by Coburn’s numbers, manufacturer numbers, UPCs, and customer-specific part numbers.
Algolia delivers intelligent search and product discovery through category-specific filters, personalization, and recommendations. ROC Commerce also supports units of measure, quantity rules, selling restrictions, technical specifications, and fulfillment requirements. Native in-store pickup connects ecommerce with Coburn’s branch network, adding digital convenience while preserving the company’s local service model.
ROC Commerce also enables flexible brand experiences, scalable SEO metadata, and dedicated landing pages for priority brands. Since launch, Coburn’s has continued expanding the experience with new account controls, payment options, search improvements, pickup features, product identifiers, and purchasing tools.
The expanded capabilities of the new digital presence gives Coburn’s customers a more connected way to find products, manage accounts, repeat purchases, pay invoices, and work with their preferred branch. The high-performance solutions, powered by ROC Commerce, is accelerating continued growth for Coburn’s.
